Mr Carroll’s, Ms Connolly’s and Ms Murphy’s 6th classes, as well as Ms Lawlor’s and Ms Griffin’s 5th classes have completed the Marathon Kids Programme.
Over the past 8 weeks all the children have ran the total distance of 26.2 miles – the same length as a MARATHON!
What an amazing achievement!
We learned about the benefits of running on our body and minds.
Physical activity improves our muscle strength, and can help us maintain a healthy weight when we eat nutritious foods.
Physical activity also has a positive impact on improving our mood, brain development, self-esteem and sleep patterns.
During the programme we learned all about the role of hydration and nutrition too.
We really earned these medals! 🙂
