Today Friday, the 23rd of April was “Lights Off Day” in our school. It really made us think about how much we rely on light in our lives. Whilst we were talking about plants and animals in Science, we found out that plants rely on 4 things in order to survive; light, air, water and nutrients.
We decided to experiment what might happen when you take away one of these important conditions, so we chose to do an experiment where we would grow broad beans and runner beans in class. We chose to leave 50% of the plants on our windowsill, and the other 50% in the cupboard in a cardboard box. We will check on our plants after the weekend and see if we observe any sprouts. We predict that our plants on the windowsill might sprout sooner than the ones in the cupboard, but for now we will have to wait and see!

Excited to see what will happen with these seeds in a few days!
