Ms. Treacy’s class were very lucky and were able to go on a trip to Avondale Beyond the Trees after they had completed the Junior Achievement Programme.
To begin, we did a tour of Avondale house, where Charles Stewart Parnell grew up. At first we were a bit confused as some of the doors were fake doors so we had to determine which doors we could go through!! We got to see the Dining Room where the family used to eat, and even saw all their names placed on the table where they used to sit. We explored his office where we saw different things belonging to him such as his pipe, some hats, a letter opener, his notes and pens. We saw the ring he had given to his wife and learnt that he retrieved the gold from the river nearby! We got to see the room where he studied and did his schoolwork. It looked very different to room 17!!!

We were then given some free time in the playground which was really fun!

And then we got to do The TreeTop Walk which we were really excited for!! We were delighted that the rain stayed away and we were able to go down the slide. It was very high up so thankfully none of us were afraid of heights!!
We had a fantastic daty!!
