R8 finished their Heritage Keepers project with two local visits. One from local historian Tomás Maher who came to teach us all about Evie Hone and her connections to the local area. We learned so much and we were all fascinated by his old fashioned projector!
The last part of our project involved a trip to St Maelruain’s Church and graveyard in Tallaght Village. Rector William brought us on a great tour of the Church and the graveyard where Evie is buried. We loved seeing her gravestone which was designed and created by her friend and sculptor Oisín Kelly.
Finally, we received our stained glass window that we designed with Kerryming Sun and we’re so proud of it!
